Got Graph? SocialMail 0.0.7 has!
by Daniel on Dec.28, 2009, under SocialMail
Well it took a bit of doing, but Social Mail 0.0.7 is out now. As promised this version includes the email/time graph so you know when your contacts are most likely to respond to you. Here’s how it looks with wAvatar selected as the default image.
That’s the last major feature for the v0.0 series. Once v0.1 is out I’ve got some ideas on how to further integrate the social networks into the interface, but before I start on them I’m hoping to have some suggestions on what people would like to see in future releases.
The next version v0.0.8 will address focus on making the upgrade process simpler, fix any bugs that are reported and add any small feature requests that come in.
Get socialMail-0.07

I just wanted to say thanks for reviving Thunderbird for me. I understand it’s not finished, but the interface you’ve provided so far is awesome! Anything more is going to be creme.
Thanks,

Thanks so much for putting this together. I’ve been looking for something like this for ages.

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the feature advancements. I wasn’t able to get the graph to work. It always gives me a staircase graph from 12am (start) to 12am(end) time period. Please let me know how to fix this.
Also, is there an option where a user can add / select / remove a social network of his/her choice. If so, then it would be an amazing feat as one can customize and chose the preferred social network for a list / database on SM.

Ananth

Hi Ananth,
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll have a look into your graph issue and see what I come up with.
As for adding other social networks, this isn’t possible at the moment. This is because we are completely dependant on the rapleaf search API. As rapleaf add other social networks to their service, they will automatically appear in SocialMail. The only exception to this would be if a given SN has an API that allows to search for members by email address, even then it would require custom code for each service.
